19th century chapel
19th century chapel is now a modern home with a nature inspired vintage twist Four red miniature mid-century chairs, two pale Staffordshire figurines, a Japanese decorative mask and fragments of an old clay pipe form an eye-catching arrangement in a vast oak display case filled with artefacts, ephemera and glittering trinkets. This cabinet of curiosities would not look out of place in a museum but, in fact, it lives in the sitting room of illustrator Laura Stoddart. Although her husband, artist Jonathan Delafield Cook, and their children, William, 15, and Florence, 12, have made occasional contributions, most of this “random assortment of visually pleasing objects” has been gathered by Laura, who is from a family of eagle-eyed dedicated collectors.
